This illustration was done using Adobe Illustrator. It was done for an Illustration class and the purpose of the assignment was to illustrate the fortune "You cannot shake hands with a clenched fist" from a fortune cookie. I chose to illustrate a fist clenching money because it shows the materialism that can get in the way of friendships for example. To carry out this illustration I used flat shapes created with the pen tool. I also used live trace and an effect for the money. I would appreciate any critique. This piece, entitled "Bears in Tennis Shoes", is a design for a childrens' book cover. It was a project for an Illustration Methods class. I started by painting traditionally and then I painted on top of the image in Adobe Photoshop, the grass and the bear's fur.
